Porsche enters the bicycling world with a new line including the RS, shown here. The RS has a carbon frame with lots of fancies including a 20-speed Shimano XTS gearset, hydraulic discs brakes and a special theft prevention ID label that allows you to track the bike on a special website. The RS weighs in at 19.8 lbs. The only drawback - they’re making you pay for the name by slapping on an $8,000+ price tag. Ouch.
Instead, you could pick up a 17 lb.Scott Addict R4 with pretty much the same features for around $2,500 (You won’t get the gadgety theft prevention tag, but a $20 lock will do you just as well).
